CHOOSE YOUR SPACE

Whether you're an independent author with a single title or a publisher with a growing collection, choose the option that gives your books the right amount of room.

GOOD TO KNOW
Do you accept every book?
No. All books and titles must be approved by A Novel Experience before shelf space is confirmed. We reserve the right to decline titles that aren't a good fit for our store or customers.
Do my books have to have an ISBN?
I recommend yes for this program. Requiring a scannable ISBN/barcode will make your Square inventory and sales reporting dramatically easier.
How many copies should I provide?
You may provide up to 5 sellable copies per approved title initially. Additional copies can be supplied as inventory sells.
Who sets the retail price?
The author or publisher provides the established retail price. I'd also add that prices should be consistent with the book's normal retail price—not artificially higher in your store.
When do I get paid?
Sales are reconciled monthly. Authors and publishers receive 80% of the selling price of books sold; A Novel Experience retains a 20% commission.
What happens if my books don't sell?
Shelf rental fees are nonrefundable and are for the reserved retail space, not a guarantee of sales.
What happens at the end of my three months?
The author/publisher can request renewal, subject to availability and approval. Any remaining inventory must be picked up within a specified period.
Can I decorate my shelf?
Promotional materials may be submitted for approval, but A Novel Experience controls final merchandising and display.
