It's getting spooky out there!

It's Fall! October is one of our favorite months--we look forward to lovely cool mornings and breath- taking sunsets. And, wait till Halloween! Downtown Zebulon will host our annual Treat or Treat on the Square when we welcome all manner of ghosts, goblins, and superheroes. It happens on Friday, October 31st from 6-8 p.m. And, spook alert--our favorite "visitor" will be here at the store for Halloween Week--the hooded guy arrayed in black with a scythe and that deep, deep laugh when you walk by...

This month we are featuring a wonderful photo exhibit "CLOSE CONNECTIONS" by Bambi Rogers, Pat DeVane Burns, and Eleanor Stecker--stay tuned for more information and a sampling of their work!

A special shout-out to our booksellers who did a fantastic job during last month's SlowExposures Photography Festival--they welcomed visitors from across the country during this just-past weekend in September. And, now, there's a bunch of folks who returned home and can answer the question on our t-shirts: "Where's Zebulon?". (We're all out of the shirts and just ordered more!).

Stop by for the annual "Princess and Hero Celebration" this coming Saturday, October 4th! We welcome back Princess Belle who will be welcoming visitors at the store from 5-7 pm. Stroll along downtown from 5-7 and meet other princesses and heroes downtown. There'll be dancing in the streets from 3:45 to 5 pm--check out the whole schedule of events by visiting info@pikecountygachamber.com.

THURSDAY, October 2nd: THE DROP-IN, GUILT-FREE BOOK GROUP discusses Robert E. Lee and Me by Ty Seiduler at 7:00 p.m.

FRIDAY, October 3rd: THE WRITERS GROUP meets at the store at 6:00 pm. It's not too late--write something to share!

We Crochet, Knit, and Converse every Tuesday from 2-4! Bring your stuff and enjoy fellow crocheters and learn some more how-to's! They are also great--and patient teachers!

TUESDAY, October 7th: THE SPIRITUALITY GROUP mets at 1:00 p.m. at the store. Interested in participating? Join them next month--always the first Tuesday of the month!

SATURDAY, October 25th: NOVELS AT NIGHT meets at 6 to discuss and share.

SUNDAY, October 19th at 3 pm: LIVING ROOM CONVERSATIONS Join us to discuss a current topic of interest from many different perspectives--we follow conversation agreements that foster understanding and and discussion among a diverse group of participants. It's a nation-wide program--and we were one of the very first groups to be involved! Topic: The Response to Civil Unrest.

WEDNESDAY, October 15th at High Noon: The BROWN BAG BOOK GROUP discusses All the Broken Places by John Boyne. Join us!

MONDAY, OCTOBER 13th at 7:00: THE ROMANCE PAGES SOCIETY discusses a great book every month!

SUNDAY, October 26th: THE CLASSICS GROUP meets at 2:00 at the store. We're reading Dracula by Bram Stoker.

FRIDAY OCTOBER 31st: TREAT OR TREAT ON THE SQUARE! 5-7 pm. Be there! Visit Princess Belle at the store!
