August 2024 Newsletter

It is what you read when you don’t have to that determines what you will be when you can’t help it.” — Oscar Wilde

It's the dog days of summer--and boy, is it hot! Just perfect weather to stay in the A-C and read a good book--we have restocked our annual "pool" of great beach reads that are just fun and entertaining.

We've enjoyed great discussions when we meet for our monthly "Living Room Conversations"--we celebrate diversity in opinion and celebrate how we pull off discussing a variety of topics in a fun, civil and informative way. It can be done!

And, books can spark an amazing response in readers--we're featuring displays of authors we love-- titles that will meet the lazy days of summer or those that will remind you of August adventures in the past (before school started so early...: ) Speaking of school, they're baaaack in the classroom--and, we'll do our best to have the titles that will be assigned. Good luck to our great teachers--and remember to ask for your 15% discount when you come in (same for veterans and active military folks!).

Cooks and chefs and those who love making food! We have received a literal ton of great cook books--pick up 3-for-the-price-of-one--$5. Yum! And as always, come and see us! And, tell us what you've been reading!
