January 2024 Newsletter

Updated: Jan 25

Welcome, everyone, to the New Year!

“Books are the treasured wealth of the world and the fit inheritance of generations and nations.”

― Henry David Thoreau, Walden

Happy New Year to all! We enjoyed a wonderful holiday season at A Novel Experience--and we're looking forward to sharing 2024 with great books and fun events with you all year long!

Our 2024 book groups are beginning this month with titles that are sure to prompt great discussions and laughter. And, our discussion group on current topics, "Living Room Conversations" returns this month as well. We are also pleased to feature Bill Chamberlain's wonderful photographs of the rural south on our walls this month--come on by and enjoy them. And, check out our collection of books that will be sure to assist you with jumpstarting your New Year's resolutions!

We looking forward to enjoying a bit of sunshine this week and catching some time to curl up in a blanket with a great book selected from each of our rather mountainous book piles...so many books, so little time...:). If you need to refresh your book pile stop by--we're putting some fabulous titles on the shelves this month. And, perhaps resolve to join us at one of our monthly book groups--it's a great way to discover new titles and interests (ask Chris about the Louise Penny's series...). Happy New Year, enjoy the season, and don't forget to let us know what you're reading!

FYI: The Dog and Pony Show will be returning in 2024!

This Spring, be a part of our annual photo show celebrating two of the best "huggables" in the world! We partner with CoCo's Cupboard (our local dog rescue group) to bring the annual celebration to dog and horse lovers. We'll invite you to enter 4 photos--if selected they will hang on the walls of the bookstore for a month of enjoyment (and, be viewed during during our scrumptious hot dog feast !). Sale of work will be encouraged!

Stay tuned for more info!
