May 2022 Newsletter

Updated: Jan 25

Greetings, all! And here comes May with sunny, warm temps, blooming trees and flowers, and a host of great things happening at A Novel Experience!

We have a wonderful antidote to the Covid hangover that many of been experiencing: Join us at one of our inspiring, fun, social book and discussion clubs! From the Spirituality Book Club to the Drop-In, Guilt-Free Book Club to Living Room Conversations we convene monthly for great conversation about books and current happenings--you might encounter titles and ideas that inspire, challenge, and, maybe, invoke memories and happiness. This month we welcome author Walker Chandler for a booksigning of his latest--Radium Springs is a four volume series set in the 19th century. And, we're pleased to support authors at our biannual "Authors Showcase"--the conversations with these writers about the how-to's of getting a book written and published--is a tale in and of itself.

May is also when we celebrate Memorial Day on the 30th--it's a time to honor those who died while serving in the U.S. armed services. If you haven't stopped by to enjoy the Neath Sisters photo show "Horses and Hot Rods" be sure to--it moves on after Saturday the 21st. And, stay tuned for Malgorzata Florkowska's and Gwen Roland's collaboration presenting a year of seasons on local farmer Steve McCrary's family farm. We'll toast them at a reception on June 11th! Thanks to Pike County School's Kim Johnson who organized last month's downtown Poetry Project and to Ryan at The 1826 Coffee Company for hosting a poetry reading this past month--they'll schedule another going forward! It inspired us to add to our poetry collection--new titles on the way! Try reading poems aloud this month for a lovely respite from a stressful day. Stop by, join one of our book groups, share your thoughts about contemporary topics at Living Room Conversations...and, enjoy a good book on your front porch at sundown! The Novel Experience Team
