“Doctor Who: You want weapons? We're in a library. Books are the best weapon in the world. This room's the greatest arsenal we could have. Arm yourself!" Our tradition to honor of the founding of our country is to display the flag that graced Karen's father's casket (thankfully, he survived combat at the Battle of the Bulge in WWII and lived to a grand old age). In this tumultuous time it's that important to join together to celebrate on the 4th. And, we're all wearing pins that say "Bookstores Save Democracy". :) Stop by--our bookstore's rule is "Anyone can join any conversation" and, we do have robust discussions. Also consider our monthly "Living Room Conversations" when our diverse group discusses a current topic in an informative, and civil, way. Books can spark an amazing reaction for readers--we're featuring a display of titles that have been banned through the years--we guarantee you will be amazed when you see some of the titles! Hot enough out there for you? Check out summer reads in our traditional wading pool of great summer reads for beach vacations (used books are the best antidotes to worrying about spilling drinks on pristine new ones...). Stop by to see our newest photography exhibit by the Sun City folks. And, good news! The knitters are back! They meet every Tuesday from 4-6--it's a drop-in, knit and purl casual gathering. And, location alert! Thanks to Emily's fantastic TikTok videos we have lots of visitors--if you use some GPS apps they take you to...Barnesville. Go figure--we know we're in Zebulon (we even have t-shirts to prove it!). Come and see us! 4th of July Alert! We'll be closed on Monday the 4th. Enjoy the holiday! The Novel Experience Team

For our July photography show we welcome The SCP Photo Club, formed in 2008 at Sun City Peachtree. The images in the show reference the many different backgrounds that members bring to the group. In addition to a monthly exhibit at the Sun City community center, members have had pictures at a local art gallery, the Griffin Library, and are delighted to be back at ANE.
