It's getting warmer! And, there's lots to experience outdoors as nature wakes up! We've got the books for you: Gardening, hiking, what-kind-of insect-is-that, great trips to take during springtime. It's also Poetry Month and we have an incredible display of write-your-own poetry activities that will inspire you!

Join us this month for our annual Dog and Pony Show--the photographs featuring the wonderful gazes of sweet dogs and equines is one of our favorites--put Saturday, April 27th on your calendar for the Closing Reception and Juror's Talk with Ray Sullivan. Coco's Cupboard will be here with adoptable pooches and we'll be serving yummy hot dogs and libations galore!

Stop by, pick up some books for your spring vacation, share your thoughts about contemporary topics at Living Room Conversations...and, join one of our book groups and discover great titles that you didn't know you would love!

The 2024 Dog and Pony Show!

The Reception: Saturday, April 27th. 6-8.

Our D&P Juror-for-Life Ray Sullivan as well as many of the photographers whose work has been selected for the 2024 show will gather at the annual Reception on Saturday, April 27th from 6-8. Ray will be choosing the winners from the hanging work and giving his annual Juror's Talk during the reception. Don't forget to vote for your favorite photo for the People's Choice Award! ,

Join us on Saturday, April 27th from 6-8 and enjoy the fabulous parade of adoptable dogs from Coco's Cupboard as you munch on our traditional hot dogs, along with celebratory libations. Meet new and old friends, and, pet those dogs who are looking for a forever home...don't you need one more?




TUESDAY, April 2nd: THE SPIRITUALITY GROUP meets at 1:00 p.m. at the store. We're discussing The Universal Christ by Richard Rohr. Join Us!

THURSDAY, April 4th: THE DROP-IN GUILT-FREE BOOK GROUP will meet on Thursday, April 4th at the store at 7:00 p.m.! We're discussing "City of Thieves" by David Benioff. Join us!

FRIDAY, April 5th: The Writer's Group meets Friday! Keep writing and bring your work to share.

SATURDAY, April 6th: NOVELS AT NIGHT at 6:00. We're reading Deja Vu by Liz Leiby.

SUNDAY, April 7th: THE SILENT BOOK CLUB at 3:30. We visit for a bit and then everyone reads quietly from a book they bring to the club.

THURSDAY, April 11th: THE SCI-FI BOOK GROUP meets at 6 to discuss Slaughter-House Five by Kurt Vonnegut, Jr.. If you are interested in joining this out-of-the-world group, come and grab a seat!

SATURDAY, April 13th: BOOKSIGNING: Author and legendary Pike County teacher Todd Child signs his newest book "Clementine's Dream" from 5-7 p.m.

SUNDAY, April 14th: LIVING ROOM CONVERSATIONS will explore a current topic (TBD) from all sides of the subject. Stay tuned! We welcome anyone who is interested in civil discussion and learning about our diverse community. Join us Sunday at 3:00!

WEDNESDAY, April 17th at High Noon: The BROWN BAG BOOK GROUP discusses The Trackers by Charles Frazier.

SATURDAY, April 27th: THE DOG & PONY SHOW RECEPTION! 6-8

SUNDAY, APRIL 28th: THE CLASSICS GROUP meets at 2:00 pm to discuss Three African-American Classics: Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglas, Booker T. Washington Up From Slavery and W.E.B DuBois The Souls of Black Folk.
